Amazing 122 Days World Cruise Starting at $155 a Night
Around the world in 122 days, from about $155 per person a night. This is the kind of trip most people put on a someday list, and the price makes it a lot easier to say this year.
MSC Cruises' 2027 World Cruise sails from Genoa, Italy on January 5, 2027 and returns to Genoa on May 6, 2027. That's 121 nights and 122 days aboard MSC Magnifica, calling at 45 destinations in 25 countries across Europe, Africa, South America, Oceania and North America. Along the way you'll cross the International Date Line twice and transit the Panama Canal.
Most world cruises cost several hundred dollars a night. Fares on this one start at around $155 per person, per night, which puts the full circumnavigation at roughly $18,755 per person at the lead rate. That's less per night than many 7-night Caribbean sailings once you add up drinks and excursions, and on this voyage a good share of those extras are already included.

Where you'll go
Europe and across the Atlantic
The voyage opens with a Mediterranean run through Marseille, Barcelona, Ibiza, Gibraltar and Casablanca, then heads into the Atlantic via Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Mindelo in Cape Verde before crossing to Brazil.
South America and Patagonia
Samba and colonial history in Salvador de Bahia, then an overnight in Rio de Janeiro. Next comes an overnight in Buenos Aires, whale watching from Puerto Madryn, a call at Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, and an overnight in Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. The ship then rounds into Chile for Puerto Montt and an overnight in Valparaíso.
The South Pacific
Heading west, you'll visit Hanga Roa on Easter Island and pass Pitcairn Island, then reach French Polynesia with an overnight in Papeete, Tahiti, and a call at Moorea. The Cook Islands follow with Aitutaki and Rarotonga.
New Zealand and Australia
New Zealand gets six calls: the Bay of Islands, Auckland, Tauranga, Christchurch, Dunedin and a scenic sail through Milford Sound. Then it's across the Tasman Sea for overnights in Hobart, Tasmania and Sydney.
The islands, Hawaii and the Americas
The return leg visits Noumea in New Caledonia, Luganville in Vanuatu, Apia in Samoa and Pago Pago in American Samoa, then Hawaii with Hilo and Honolulu. From there it's Los Angeles, Cabo San Lucas and Puntarenas in Costa Rica before the Panama Canal.
The Caribbean and home
After the canal: La Romana in the Dominican Republic, Road Town in the British Virgin Islands and Philipsburg on St. Maarten. A final Atlantic crossing brings you back to Europe for Naples and Civitavecchia (Rome) before arriving home in Genoa.
15 shore excursions are included
On most world cruises, excursions are where the budget gets away from you. This one includes 15 of them in the fare:
| Port | Included excursion |
|---|---|
| Casablanca, Morocco | City Tour and Hassan II Mosque |
| Las Palmas, Canary Islands | Panoramic Tour of Gran Canaria |
| Mindelo, Cape Verde | A Taste of the Island |
| Salvador de Bahia, Brazil | Pelourinho & Historic Salvador |
| Rio de Janeiro, Brazil | Sights of Rio & Sugarloaf Mountain Panorama |
| Buenos Aires, Argentina | The Charms of Buenos Aires |
| Valparaíso, Chile | City Tour Valparaíso & Viña del Mar |
| Papeete, Tahiti | East Coast Tahiti |
| Auckland, New Zealand | Auckland Museum & Waterfront Sights |
| Hobart, Tasmania | Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary |
| Sydney, Australia | Discovering Sydney |
| Honolulu, Hawaii | Pearl Harbor Tour |
| Los Angeles, USA | Beaches & Beverly Hills |
| Puntarenas, Costa Rica | Scenic Drive, Cultural Show and Shopping |
| Naples, Italy | The Preserved Roman City of Pompeii |
Pompeii, Sugarloaf and Pearl Harbor alone would cost a few hundred dollars per person if booked separately.
The ship: MSC Magnifica
MSC Magnifica is a mid-size ship, big enough for real variety on long stretches at sea and small enough to feel familiar after a few weeks. She's being remodeled with a brand-new MSC Yacht Club, launching in summer 2026: a key-card-only "ship within a ship" with 63 suites, the Top Sail Lounge, a private restaurant and pool, and 24-hour butler and concierge service.
Everyone on board gets:
- Four restaurants and eight bars, with menus that change to reflect the regions you're sailing through
- The Royal Theater for production shows, plus the T32 disco and themed nights
- MSC Aurea Spa, a gym, solarium and whirlpools
- Sports: basketball, shuffleboard and a tennis court
- A covered pool under a glass roof, so sea days are comfortable in any weather
- World-cruise programming: guest speakers, cooking demos, folk dance lessons and craft workshops tied to upcoming destinations
What's included in your fare
- Dine & Drink package for the whole voyage: mineral water, soda, juices, and a selection of beer and wine by the glass (red, white, rosé and sparkling) with lunch and dinner in the Main Restaurant and the Buffet
- 15 shore excursions (listed above)
- Seven overnights, so you get evenings ashore in Rio, Buenos Aires, Ushuaia, Valparaíso, Papeete, Hobart and Sydney
- 30% off all laundry, which adds up over four months
- All onboard entertainment and world-cruise activities
Good to know: the Dine & Drink package covers only the Main Restaurant and the Buffet at meal times. It doesn't apply in the bars or specialty restaurants, so if you like a cocktail at sunset, ask us about upgrading your beverage package.

You can sail the full 121 nights or choose one of three segments:

| Segment 1 | Jan 5 – Feb 10 | Genoa → Valparaíso | 36 nights |
| Segment 2 | Feb 10 – Mar 16 | Valparaíso → Sydney | 34 nights |

Embarkation is also possible in Civitavecchia (Rome), Marseille and Barcelona.
The fine print
- Deposit and cancellation: a 15% non-refundable deposit applies at 90+ days out. The penalty is 75% from 89 to 10 days before sailing and 100% inside 9 days.
- Changes: name changes are allowed. Date changes are only permitted to another World Cruise, and you forfeit the 15% deposit.
- Solo travelers: the single supplement is 180% for inside, oceanview and balcony cabins and 200% for suites.
- Insurance: MSC's own travel protection doesn't cover bookings over €80,000 per person (such as Yacht Club suites), so plan on private coverage for those.
- This fare can't be combined with brochure promo discounts or claims vouchers.
With a non-refundable deposit on a four-month trip, travel insurance isn't optional. We'll help you find a policy that fits the length and value of this voyage.
Is it right for you?
This voyage is a great fit if you've always wanted a world cruise but balked at luxury-line pricing, or if you want to see the South Pacific, Patagonia and New Zealand in one trip without a dozen long-haul flights. Retirees, remote workers with flexibility, and couples marking a milestone are the travelers we see most interested.
If you'd rather a shorter trip, Segment 2 from Valparaíso to Sydney packs Easter Island, Tahiti, the Cook Islands and all of New Zealand into 34 nights.
